Our hospitals are located in the thriving college city of Missoula, and Polson on the shore of Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. Providence also sponsors the educational mission of the University of Providence, Great Falls.

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center

Providence St. Joseph Medical Center is a 22-bed critical access hospital in beautiful northwest Montana employing nearly 250 employees, including physicians. With expanding services, building renovations and outstanding technology, our community hospital is the heart of medical care in Polson, Montana and the large, sparsely populated surrounding area. We have close ties to St. Patrick Hospital, Providence's tertiary center located 66 miles away in Missoula.

Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana has more than 250 licensed beds and serves patients from 17 counties. We have been recognized as a Thomson Reuters Top 100 Hospital and among many other awards, have earned the Premier Award for Quality award repeatedly. Missoula is halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. It is a university city of 65,000 surrounded by big sky, scenic mountains, forests and renowned rivers.

University of Providence, Great Falls

The University of Providence was founded in 1932 through the collaborative efforts of the Sisters of Providence, the Ursuline Sisters, the Catholic Bishop of Great Falls and the civic community all of whom recognized societal need for higher education. Its educational mission, sponsored by the Sisters of Providence, continues to be the shared endeavor of dedicated people.

As an expression of the teaching mission of Jesus Christ, the mission of the University of Providence is to provide students with the opportunity to obtain a liberal education for living and for making a living. The University of Providence offers 40 undergraduate degrees, eight graduate degrees and four online programs.
