The 24-Flex position is filled by an employee who is regularly scheduled 32 hours or greater per week or 64 hours or greater per pay period which includes a scheduled flex shift of 8, 10 hours per week or per pay period that they are obligated to work unless the flex shift is canceled. Flex employees receive full-time employee health insurance benefits, even though some weeks they may get “flexed down” and only work 24 hours for that week.
Shift Details: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM
In this position you will:
Obtains patient demographics, insurance information and verification
Explains of various hospital forms and policies
Obtains signatures, discussions on financial responsibilities
Collects monies and initiation of the proper episode of care
Processes required information on all patients according to departmental and interdepartmental policies and procedures while adhering to the patient focused admissions process
Performs all other duties assigned such as filing keyboarding, answering telephone, etc.
Work effectively and calmly with frequent interruptions, in a rapid-paced environment
Obtains timely and accurate information
Six (6) months experience in a healthcare related field, specifically patient access, insurance eligibility verification/authorization, billing/electronic claims submission, or collection of accounts receivable
Demonstrated application of hospitality skills in any service field
Previous hospital admitting experience
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the employee with the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the work will be considered
