Providence Health & Services Emergency Preparedness Coordinator in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (Emergency Management, Day Shift, 0.3 FTE Exempt) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Ensure program supports the safety of staff and patients in the event of a disaster, internal or external.
Ensure program supports the safety of staff and patients in the event of a HazMat event. staff are competent to assess vital signs for ages of patients served.
Ensure program supports the development of all staff to function competently in the event of a disaster.
Ensure the program supports the safe and effective transport of patients in the event of needed evacuation.
Develop and implement departmental performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and The Joint Commission standards related to Emergency Management/Preparedness.
Immediately responds to patient and customer complaints from assigned areas by demonstrating the value of service excellence in resolving these issues.
Evaluates current programs, develops new programs, conducts drills and implements and administers the hospital’s hazardous materials and decontamination programs.

Ensure the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained and demonstrated in a timely manner and that competence is continually improved. Considering all required and new competencies determined necessary for all positions.
Develop, coordinates and may present training materials and sessions to hospital staff and leadership to facilitate competence for response in the event of a disaster.
Monitor and document expense related to preparation activities.
Ensure system in place and monitors this system for tracking all expenses in the event of a disaster or event in compliance with FEMA/government requirements.
Monitor overtime and adjusts schedules as needed.
Provide feedback and input to Manager of safety for budget planning and monitoring.
Collaborate with leadership and hospital administration to ensure consistency in planning and designing services, directing services, integrating and coordinating services and improving organizational performance in the organization.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Current Montana Driver's license
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in a related field
IHSS Certified Hospital Protection Administrator
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in emergency preparedness, and/or safety, and/or healthcare management.
A strong background in emergency planning
Healthcare or EMS/Fire/HAZMAT experience
