Providence St. Joseph Health is calling an Exec Dir, Regional Medical Clinical Informatics PSJH to our location in Washington or Montana.
We are seeking an Exec Dir, Regional Medical Clinical Informatics PSJH to be responsible, with their Nursing Informatics partner, for collaborative development, implementation, support, and on-going optimization of clinical informatics, Caring Reliably framework, IS strategy and other organizational commitments. As a partner for clinical transformation and in collaboration with the Regional Chief Medical Officer, ministry Physician Executives and other physician and nursing leaders, the Executive Director, Regional Clinical Medical Informatics leads informatics initiatives with an emphasis on information technology and services to support physician and interdisciplinary care partners in the areas of practice, clinical applications, clinical/administrative decision-making, research and quality improvement initiatives, education, and resource management. He/she combines expert knowledge of patient care, informatics concepts, and change management to effectively represent the information and knowledge needs and requirements of healthcare professionals and patients and to promote safe, effective, and efficient use of information technology in clinical settings. Scope may include acute care, ambulatory care, and post-acute care settings. The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes a multidisciplinary team concept and reflects the Providence St. Joseph Health mission, vision, values, and philosophy.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities :
Continually align, develop, and promote the value of clinical informatics in support of PSJH strategic priorities.
Ensure that clinical informatics supports IS services and systems effectively and meets the needs of the business.
Provide responsive leadership; able to delegate, coordinate and motivate staff to achieve optimal performance in ensuring that direct and secondary reports support informatics services and EHR systems effectively and meet the customer needs.
Oversee budgeting and expenditures for all regional clinical informatics services, as well as cost-allocation methodologies to operational areas.
Ensure compliance in self and team with mandatory system training and education efforts.
Develop and collaborate, using data, on individual and team objectives and capacities in the creation, definition, and advancement/support of new and existing standard operating procedures (SOP) and service level agreements (SLA) consistent with PSJH management, IS, and CI priorities with the goal of providing and maintaining excellent, realistic customer service.
Measure and report on individual and team objectives/SOPs/SLAs as required/requested by CI and IS leadership.
Required qualifications for this position include:
MD or DO
12 Years clinical and Information Services leadership/clinical informatics leadership experience in a healthcare setting, and 10 years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
Must have proven ability to interact at and communicate to all levels of an organization. Organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities are critical for success in this position.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's or board certification in Clinical Informatics and/or Informatics, BA, Health Care Administration, Public Administration or related healthcare field
10 Years Experience with management in a large healthcare system using the enterprise suite of Epic, Meditech, or Allscripts clinical health record applications.
Training and experience in epidemiology, public health, health services research, or community-oriented primary care desired.
