Providence Health & Services Operating Room Core Technician in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Operating Room Core Technician ( Operating Room, Day Shift, 0.9 FTE) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Upon start of shift, ensure daily hand off with day shift core person. Review of cases for the afternoon shift. Organize cases to go.
Basic core duties-ensure all shelves are organized. Review Neuro, heart and ENT carts to ensure they are stocked. Identify missing items that need to be ordered by the inventory specialist in the morning and notify them of this need. Respond to overhead requests for room turnovers. Ensure clear cart is accessible to OR rooms without need to un-gown to retrieve cart or push cart into room. Ensure next case cart is placed outside of room for quick set-up. Actively monitor elevator to retrieve and deliver items to rooms.
Suture will run at 1630 on copier in old pre-op. Continue to do cart turnovers for rooms in addition to the suture pick. Remember-rooms are first priority. You will still be retrieving items for the rooms during this time.
Organize core before moving on to other duties. Send all unnecessary carts to SP. Put clear carts by the rooms that are close to finishing. Clean up core as much as possible.
Will have Core Tech and HCA responsibilities as part of the afternoon Core Tech role. Responsibilities include cleaning/stocking rooms, assisting with turn-overs, and transporting of surgical patients to Day Surgery and/or the Operating Room. Items in sonic rooms will be cleaned and equipment put away. Equipment from rooms will be put in the proper storage areas. Return to core to make sure all carts from the evenings are set down.
Responsible for autoclave cleaning and operations.
Wrap and label surgical instrument sets.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in Sterile Processing
Current certification as Central Processing Technician or current certification as OR Technician
