Providence Pharmacy Resident - PGY1 in Missoula, Montana
Note: All applicants must have a Pharm.D. degree from and accredited school of pharmacy and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in the state of Washington. In addition to this application, all application materials must be submitted through the PhORCAS application system managed by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Providence is calling a Pharmacy Resident (Pharmacy Residency Program, Variable, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Become competent in management of the pharmacy distribution system in order to work independently in any position within the pharmacy.
Participate in hospital committee activities.
Participate in the clinical activities conducted by the pharmacy. The resident is expected to develop the ability and confidence to independently practice in all clinical settings in the hospital.
Enhance communication skills required to become an integral component of the healthcare team.
Provide drug information, in a format applicable to the audience.
Participate in the education of pharmacy students.
Complete a project to be written in manuscript format that will provide enhanced patient safety and promote the practice of pharmacy.
Work together with the Residency Program Director to improve the residency experience for future residents.
Perform all tasks as designated by their pharmacist preceptor in each of their residency rotations.
Perform work within specified time frames. Adapts positively to frequent interruptions and changes in workload and/or work schedule.
Provide courteous, cooperative and timely service to patients, visitors and staff. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication.
Work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff. Voices concerns and suggestions to appropriate persons in a positive manner. Fosters a team environment.
Demonstrate sound professional judgment consistent with clinical/academic background.
Performance indicates improved pharmaceutical care to patients demonstrated through satisfaction, concern toward lower cost, and improvement in quality of clinical pharmacy services delivered to facility’s patients.
Understand and meets customers’ needs and expectations. The patient, physician and family members always come first.
Address problems in a group setting using individual knowledge of tools and techniques for identification and resolution of problems or issues.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate with a Pharm.D. degree from an American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school of pharmacy
Valid Montana pharmacist license or eligible for licensure in the State of Montana
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
