Providence Health & Services Philanthropy Manager in Missoula, Montana

Providence St. Patricks is seeking a Philanthropy Manager to join Providence Montana Health Foundation located in Missoula, Montana.

We are seeking a Philanthropy Manager to provide professional management and fund raising leadership for all aspects of the major gift program for both current and future major gifts for the Providence Montana Service Area. Major Gifts include both outright gifts as well as planned gifts. The primary focus of this position is to design, lead, and personally model a field oriented process of identification, cultivation, solicitation, and recognition of major individual, corporate, and foundation donors through future and current gifts.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Recognizing relationship management as key to the success of major gifts, assures optimal attention to major donor relationships for the purpose of seeking additional gift investments aligned with the strategic plan of the Foundation and Providence Montana Service Area Hospitals.

  • Oversees the development officer and participates in the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of the constituencies in the Polson area.

  • Assists CPO with the development and execution of designated capital campaigns.

  • Arranges for and coordinates major gifts and steering committees’ meetings.

  • Manages a pool of future prospects and current/past portfolio of donors, including planned giving prospects.

  • Oversees the Annual Giving officer to identify, cultivate and secure donors, corporate/business relationships and the development and implementation of employee giving and grateful patient programs.

  • Maintains relationships within the Missoula and Polson communities to realize new opportunities for Foundation engagement.

  • Oversees the Development Coordinator in the ongoing gift receipts, deposits, acknowledgements, and record keeping functions to insure their accuracy and appropriate donor stewardship.

Lead the Implementation of New Business Alliances/ Partnerships: Pursues opportunities to build mutually beneficial relationships with strategic business partners. Persuades business or alliance partners to take action that will enhance the organization’s competitive advantage. Gains the trust of business partners by being honest and consistent, keeping commitments, exchanging ideas openly, and treating them with respect.giving prospects

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1 year fund development experience with non-profit organizations and working with a board of directors

  • 1 year progressive responsibility leading teams, projects or programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years fund development experience with non-profit organizations and working with a board of directors

  • 3 years leadership experience
