Providence Health & Services Quality RN Specialist in Missoula, Montana


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Quality Specialist (Quality Assurance, Day Shift, 0.8 FTE, Exempt) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Coach, support and mentor staff as needed to maintain or improve competency with performance improvement.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with the nursing process and with related performance improvement projects.

  • Incorporate adult learning principles into action plan when working on projects that involve a change of behavior for patients, families, or staff.

  • Understands continuum of care as reflected in performance improvement plans and activities.

  • Analyze cost and clinical data and makes recommendations and assists in the implementation of change in clinical practice to facilitate a high quality environment.

  • Collaborate with medical and administrative staff in setting priorities for quality improvement activities.

  • Act as a positive change agent in support of organizational goals.

  • Coordinate activities in developing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement processes for a defined patient population.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Montana State

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) - (Healthcare Provider) within 6 months of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing

  • CPHQ certification

  • 3 years experience in Clinical nursing, customer relations, and patient outcomes

  • Projects, Joint Commission, and leadership experience

  • Performance/process improvement
