Providence Health & Services Radiation Therapist in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Radiation Therapist (Radiation Oncology, Day Shift, 0.8 FTE) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, WA. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Monitors side effects and reactions to treatment daily.
Monitors the patient visually and aurally during treatment.
Monitors the treatment console during treatment.
Prepares and positions patient for simulation and daily treatment using appropriate positioning aids and immobilization devices.
Prepares or assists in preparing brachytherapy sources.
Provides accurate explanations and instructions at an appropriate time and at a level the patient can understand. Addresses and documents patient questions and concerns regarding the procedure when appropriate.
Provides appropriate information to any individual involved in the patient’s care.
Provides appropriate patient care and clinical information to other healthcare professionals for continuing care.
Provides appropriate patient care and clinical information for continuing care based on the patient’s needs as needed.
Recognizes indications of an emergency.
Recognizes the patient’s need for referral to other care providers such as a social worker or nutritionist.
Refers questions about diagnosis, treatment or prognosis to the patient’s physician.
Reproduces initial setup daily.
Reviews daily treatment record prior to treatment or simulation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Accredited Radiation Therapy Program by the Joint Review Committee for Radiologic Technology Education (JRCRTE).
Minimum of completion of clinical rotations from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
Montana State Board of Radiologic Technologist License.
Certification or certification eligible – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.
