Providence is calling a Respiratory Care ( Neurodiagnostics , Night Shift, 0.75 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects, to include all ages.
Support patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.
Follow the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments & Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
Assist with, or perform, according to scope of practice, a timely assessment of patients, according to policies, procedures, and protocols, taking into account age/developmental stage.
Provide Sleep Studies for patients as requested by physicians in accordance with all policies, procedures, and protocols as outlined by the technical policy and procedure manual.
Keep abreast of the changing procedures and techniques of the Sleep Study field.
Perform general care activities, consistent with patient’s age/development stage, cultural, and other individual needs.
Adequately and accurately label recording and all forms generated during the study
Alert necessary staff to a medical emergency
Call to confirm and give instructions to patient prior to and during test
Obtain information from Neurodiagnostic Supervisor, Medical Director, or referring physician regarding specific parameters for each patient being studied, and utilizing appropriate lab protocols for these parameters.
Perform pre- and post-recording calibration of all AC and DV signals used for recording
Perform recordings per protocols
Recording and all appropriate forms are completed and organized following recording, for use in analysis of data by Sleep Center staff
Troubleshooting and artifact recognition/correction is done when necessary.
Bill appropriate procedure
Must obtain Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists - BRPT within 1 year
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program RRT or CRT
Registered by Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists - BRPT
State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT or CRT
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completed Polysomnogram Training Course
2 years recent experience in the field of Sleep Study technology.
Has basic knowledge and experience in computers.
