Providence Health & Services RN – Clinical Documentation Specialist in Missoula, Montana


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Quality Specialist (Utilization Review, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Design quality improvement processes.

  • Monitor and analyze performance through data collection and analysis.

  • Work to improve and sustain improved performance.

  • Coordinate and integrate clinical performance improvement across committees and clinical specialties.

  • Assists with management of CDMPTrak®.

  • Facilitates concurrent documentation from all disciplines (physicians, case managers, discharge planners, nurses, etc.) to capture best practice Quality Indicators for specific diagnoses (currently including Heart Failure, Acute Myocardial Infarction, Pneumonia, and Surgical Infection Prevention) to support the CMS/JCAHO Hospital Quality Alliance and CMS/Premier Demonstration Project requirements.

  • Improves the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation by performing admission/continued stay reviews using Compliant Documentation Program Management® (CDMP®) guidelines.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 5 years of recent clinical experience in a hospital setting, or 4 years recent clinical experience.

  • Current licensure in the State of Montana as a Registered Nurse

  • Knowledgeable of current nursing principles, management principles, as well as hospital organizational operations.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • ICU/Critical Care experience.
