RN – Intensive Care Unit
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice. Key functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.
$10,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Nursing degree/diploma upon hire
All Registered Nurses without a Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) degree or higher must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire
RNs with twenty (20) years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in state(s) of hire, and wherever care is delivered
If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies:
American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider),
American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), -or-
Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be from American Heart Association (AHA) -or- Military Training Network (MTN) within six (6) months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months upon hire
At least 1 year of acute care nursing experience required - or- completion of the specialty residency at St. Patrick Hospital
