Providence Health & Services Security Officer/Emergency Medical Technician in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Security Officer/EMT (Safety, Variables, 0.6 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana.

In this position you will:
Patient Care. Chest compressions and ventilations during cardiac arrest, assessing patient vitals and responding to BLS calls for service to assess injured patients, guests and caregivers on our two main campuses and a 250 foot doughnut surrounding our properties. Decontaminate patients or caregivers exposed to hazardous materials utilizing the decontamination shower and mass triage tent.
Patient Transport. Conducts Basic Life Support (BLS) patient transports in support of St. Patrick Hospital for imaging, diagnostics, special procedures, N.B.M.I, and other services necessary for patient care. Assesses and monitors patient condition in accordance with demonstrated skill level, individual level of EMS certification, transport vehicle license restrictions and patient's needs throughout intra-facility patient transfers.
Emergency Response. As an EMT the Security Officer serves on the Code Blue Team, Trauma Alert Team, and Crisis Response Teams. Conducts patient care under the direction of a medical physician as allowed by their level of EMS certification.
Safety. Performs assigned tasks and activities in accordance with hospital policy, departmental policy and departmental standard operating procedures in an effort to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Helipad Safety Officer. Serves as the Safety Officer for rotor wing aircraft landings and as patient transport Safety Officer/EMT from the helipads to the Emergency Room or other destination as required for continuum of care. Perform chest
Security Officer. Performs ongoing security assessments, conducts interior and exterior security patrols (pedestrian & vehicle) monitors activity in the hospital, conducts preliminary investigations, writes and submits incident reports as required. Updates security procedures and informs Safety Management Staff.
Access Control. Maintains controlled access to the hospital facilities at all times. Locks/unlocks entrances on a specific schedule, maintains awareness of visitors, vendors, contractors and Law Enforcement Officers in the facility. Monitors and restricts access to high risk areas using video surveillance system, elevator and door controls. Able to restrict access to portions of the hospital, parking garages, parking lots and other property as required.
The shift will be nights from 7 pm - 7 am Sunday/Monday.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior typing/keyboard experience required to enter and retrieve data in an accurate and timely manner
Montana State Registry EMT-B or EMT-A Certified upon hire
Valid Montana State Driver’s License. motor vehicle record. and insurance or signed insurance waiver
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years experience military, law enforcement or private security
