Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Human Resources Consultant PSJH. Candidates for this role may reside in Washington, Montana, Oregon or California.
We are seeking a Human Resources Consultant PSJH to beresponsible for serving as a strategic consultant to local HR and business leaders who face employee or labor relations matters where content and assistance is needed. They will have the same general job accountability as a HRC or LRC, commensurate with less experience and responsibilities. The role requires utilizing best practice approaches to positive employee and labor relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, conducting non-complex investigations, and project work on workplace environment improvement. Additional areas of accountability may include employee or labor relations research, identification of trends and patterns and need for critical intervention, preparation and delivery of employee or labor relations training, policy development, effective record keeping, data integrity, and affirmative action planning. Provides expertise and appropriate competency based systems to support regulatory requirements to include federal and state employment laws, JCAHO, CMS, OSBN, OSHA and other healthcare related agency requirements.

• Providing consulting expertise in employment based compliance or labor relations.
• Providing support for non-complex employee relations or labor relations activities.
• Use of facts and data to interpret and trend data for effective business decisions.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Works collaboratively with HR staff to manage risk and deploy best practices in the administration and delivery of HR services (Risk Management, Regulatory Bodies, EEOC and state agencies-Affirmative Action, Worker’s Comp, ADA/LOA, Wage & Hour, Wrongful Discharge) or labor organizing risk reduction.
Serves as a consultant to local HR and operations leaders on employee or labor relations matters where content and subject-matter expertise is needed.
Advocates fair & appropriate workplace practices in accordance with mission, values, legal parameters.
Promotes and utilizes HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business.
Assists in ER assessments and/or investigations where additional resources are needed. Works collaboratively with local HR and others, including Labor/Employment counsel as appropriate to address findings and make recommendations.
Assists in identifying opportunities for problem resolution mediation to resolve issues between management & employees.
Collaborates with the local HR to provide consultation to managers or corrective action or discipline.
Provides support for periodic and regular audits to ensure regulatory, policy and best caregiver experience compliance.
Assists in training and education to all levels of the organization regarding interpretation and implementation of applicable laws, HR policies and new initiatives.
Collaborates with Labor/Employment Counsel to prepare for and support collective bargaining negotiations and contract implementation.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree and SPHR/PHR certificate
2 years Professional human resources experience at exempt level
Multi-site/location, multi-line of business, and/or integrated health system experience
Demonstrated experience in one of the following specialty areas: labor relations, ADAAA, Leaves of Absence, Affirmative Action, mediation, or OD
