Providence Health & Services Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Polson, Montana

Description:

Providence is calling a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Behavioral Health, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE/40 hours per week) to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Perform assessment and documentation of presenting problems, social and family history, psychiatric history, mental status, and other information pertinent to the accurate assessment of patient's neurobehavioral problems on the inpatient unit and in the clinic

  • Work with patients/families, physicians, health care professionals and community resources to provide assessment, treatment and coordinated discharge planning in accordance with standards established for care

  • Provide assessment and documentation, as well as targeted behavioral interventions for patients

  • Maintain current knowledge of reimbursement and regulatory issues of the payors most frequently seen with the patient population

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Professional Counseling

  • 3 years experience with adult and/or adolescent populations and familiarity with broad range of psychiatric disorders

  • Well developed clinical skills for interviewing and assessing

  • Montana Licensed Professional counselor upon hire

  • Non Violent Crisis Intervention within 6 months of hire with recertified every 2 years after

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate in a positive manner, verbally and in writing

  • Self-motivated, independent, professional, creative and dependable

  • Ability to function without supervision and to work with difficult personalities and situations within guidelines

  • Able to merge clinical and financial processes

  • Ability to work with others as a team to insure quality patient care and efficiency

We have close ties to Providence St. Patrick Hospital and Health Sciences Center, Providence's tertiary center located 66 miles away in Missoula.
