Providence is calling a Medical Assistant (Family Medicine, Day Shift, 0.75 FTE) to Providence Medical Group St. Joseph Family Practice in Ronan, Montana.
In this position, you will:
Work closely with a team of staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.
Assist with exams and procedures, administer medications, and perform tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider.
Assists physicians in office procedures including but not limited to: maintaining timely flow of patients, pelvic exams, physicals, medication/ immunization administration, prescription management, phlebotomy, vision screening, hearing screening, blood sugar monitoring, lacerations/wound/suture removal care, splints/dressings/cast application and removal, pathology specimen preparation, urinary catheterization, surgical procedures, endoscopy procedures, ECG's, event monitoring, oximetry, CLIA waived laboratory test, urine, heel densitometry testing, breathing treatments, through cultures, anticipates emergent or urgent patient situations and possible performs emergency CPR, patient treatment education.
Cleans and maintains exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for patient exams, treatments, procedures including disinfecting of instruments.
Screens, assesses, monitors, documents, and interprets environmental needs.
Orders and maintains office supplies.
Prepares patients for examinations and treatments. Takes patient histories, vital signs, fills out the medication flow sheet, assesses medication allergies/adverse reactions and anticipates the needs for that patient's visit. Instruct patients in collection of laboratory samples and tests.
CMA, Certified Medical Assistant, C.M.A.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for the Healthcare Provider
If not currently credentialed, this position will require successfully obtaining Medical Assistant Certification within 60 days from date of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
6 months of experience working as a medical assistant (MA)
